Help with PDF Compressor

Find answers to common questions about local PDF compression, file-size results and troubleshooting. For issues not covered below, contact SOMBRAHYPE SL by email.

How do I compress a PDF?

Open PDF Compressor, choose or drop a PDF, adjust image quality and maximum resolution if needed, then start compression. When processing finishes, use the download button to save the compressed PDF.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No PDF upload is required for the core compression workflow. PDF contents selected for compression are processed locally in the browser and are not uploaded to SOMBRAHYPE SL servers as part of that process.

Why is my compressed PDF not much smaller?

Compression results depend on the contents of the document. PDFs containing many large or high-resolution images generally have more potential for size reduction. Text-heavy PDFs or files whose images are already highly compressed may shrink less.

What do the quality and resolution controls do?

Quality controls how aggressively supported images are recompressed. Maximum resolution limits the long edge of supported images. Lower settings can reduce file size further, but may also reduce image detail.

Why can some PDFs fail to process?

PDF files vary significantly in structure. Some protected, damaged, unusually encoded or highly complex documents may not be compatible with the current processing workflow. If a file fails, try another PDF and contact us if the issue persists.

Does PDF Compressor require an account?

No account is required to use the core PDF compression function.

Does the extension process payment information?

No. If you voluntarily use an external support link such as Buy Me a Coffee, payment information is handled by the applicable third-party service and its payment-processing partners, not by PDF Compressor's browser-extension compression workflow.

What should I include in a support request?

To help us investigate efficiently, include your browser version, PDF Compressor version, a short description of what happened, and the exact error message if one appeared. Do not email confidential PDF contents unless specifically requested and you are comfortable doing so.
