Overview

PDF Compressor is a browser extension whose single purpose is to help users reduce the size of PDF files by processing eligible images contained in a PDF.

A PDF is processed only after the user explicitly selects or drops a file into the extension interface.

Information processed

When you select a PDF, the extension temporarily accesses the file and its contents in your browser so it can analyze and compress the document.

This may include information contained inside the PDF, such as:

• text, images, and document structure;
• document metadata embedded in the PDF;
• other user-generated content contained in the selected document.

How information is used

PDF data is used only to analyze the selected document, recompress supported images, generate the resulting PDF, and make that result available for the user to download.

PDF Compressor does not use selected PDF contents to:

• build advertising profiles;
• sell information to third parties;
• train advertising or profiling systems;
• track browsing activity;
• perform unrelated analytics or marketing.

Data transmission and storage

The contents of PDFs selected for compression are processed locally on the user's device. PDF contents are not uploaded to our servers as part of the compression process.

We do not maintain a server-side copy of a PDF submitted to the extension for compression. The compressed file is generated locally and downloaded by the user.

Browser permissions and remote code

The current version of PDF Compressor does not request optional or elevated Chrome extension permissions for its core compression functionality.

The code required for PDF compression, including the PDF processing library used by the extension, is packaged with the extension rather than remotely downloaded and executed as extension code.

Third-party links

The extension may provide an optional external support link. If you choose to open an external website, that website operates independently and may have its own privacy practices.

Opening an external link is optional and is not required to use the PDF compression feature.

Children's privacy

PDF Compressor is a general-purpose utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children. The extension does not require account registration for its PDF compression function.

Security and privacy safeguards

Local processing is used to reduce unnecessary transmission of document contents. Users should still use appropriate care when handling sensitive documents and should download extensions only from trusted distribution channels.

No software environment can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free. We may update the extension to improve compatibility, security, reliability, or functionality.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the extension changes or when privacy, operational, or legal requirements change. When we make a material update, the effective date shown at the top of this page will be revised.
